Happy 29th Birthday Matt!!

Today is Matt's birthday. He doesn't feel that his birthday is anything special, but i disagree! I love birthdays (especially mine - LOL)! I would have loved to do something more for him, but today was C-R-A-Z-Y!! I did manage to fix supper and a cake (which the cake didn't turn out so great). As I said, today was crazy. I don't know how anyone gets anything done with small children (if you've figured it out, please let me know - my house and flowers would appreciate it)! Sawyer is usually a very ACTIVE child but today he really kicked it into overdrive. He could not be still or quiet for anything and would not take a nap! Needless-to-say, he was in bed by 8:00!! I don't see how that kid does it! Whether or not to have another child has been an ongoing discussion at our house lately - well, let's just say that there will be no more children in our future the way today has gone...lol!! anyways, enough about that.

I got a new car this weeked. Well, not new but new to me. We got a 2007 suburban. We've been looking at getting something bigger since Sutton was born. I love it!! I'm having it detailed tomorrow, so i'm excited about that. It drives so good and everyone has their own space. I'm actually looking forward to traveling (well, as much as a can w/ 2 small kids)!

Sutton Brooks Hyatt

I wanted to take time to do a post about our newest addition, Sutton (a/k/a Brother)! Sutton was born March 26, 2010 at 11:02 a.m. and weighed 7lbs. 9ozs. I might add that he was almost 3 weeks early!! The doctor said that he would have been 9lbs. if i would have carried him to my due date, which was April 13. I was really hoping to go into labor on my own this time around, but i had preclampsia, as i did with Sawyer, so I had to be induced. Everything went very fast this time. I dilated from 6 to 10 in about 5 minutes and then pushed for maybe 5 or 10 minutes. I must say, this time wasn't as pain free as I would have hoped, but it was all worth it in the end!
He is a very good baby and is usually perfectly content as long as he is fed and changed. He is eating 6 ozs. every 4 hours.
He is such a blessing to our family!! We love you Sutton!

Boys will be boys!!

Today was Sawyer's end-of-the year picnic at school. He had a ton of fun, as you will see!! Sawyer came to me and said "mom, i want to take my shoes off and play in the dirt". of course, being the mom I am, i say "no"....lol!! well, you see that done a lot of good....lol! the next thing i know he is taking his shoes and getting in the dirt! i'm learning what it means to raise boys...lots of dirt and bugs and boogers and bunch of other gross stuff, but i have to admit, i'm loving it! i never pictured myself w/ all boys. i always thought i would have a prissy little girl like myself (i think God has a sense of humor) but i have 2 precious little boys that i wouldn't trade for the world!

I seriously need to be cleaning, but what am i doing....

BLOGGING!!! oh well, blogging is a lot more fun, i must say! since my last post, we have been crazy busy! Thursday night was Courtney's pantry shower. Friday, Sara and I spent most of the day decorating for Courtney's lingerie shower. we got done w/ decorating and then i ran around like a crazy person. came home got sutton and myself ready for our singing at church (sawyer stayed w/ mimi and pops). went to mom and dad's after the singing and cooked my dessert for the shower and crashed (matt went fishing so me and sutton stayed at mom and dad's). the next day was courtney's shower. it went great. everything looked beautiful. of course, this past weekend was mother's day. we went over to mom's saturday night, went to church w/ Karen sunday morning and then went to our church sunday night and back to Karen's after church. I did get 2 really cute cards from sawyer! He was very excited about them and it was really cute!

My first Mother's Day Gift from Sawyer

Today i got my first Mother's Day gift from Sawyer....an oven mit that he colored and a coupon book w/ things like one hug, one kiss, etc.! I love it!! Sawyer's last day of school will be next Thursday and then he will start the summer program sometime in June. Tonight we have Courtney's pantry shower and Jared's tool and gadget party. Tomorrow sara and I have to decorate for Courtney's shower, singing tomorrow night at church, Saturday is the shower, plus it's Mother's Day weekend!! Busy, busy, but I'm trying to have fun w/ it :) i love planning parties and showers, but with the baby and all I haven't had as much time to focus on it as much as i would have liked to. That's hard for me because i don't like to do anything halfway. hopefully, it will all come together though. That's it for now....and hopefully next time i'll have pics to post!!

Not too much to say

Today has been a typical monday around here, except for the fact Matt was on call so he got in later than usual. i mainly worked on the house. my house can not survive the weekend!! this morning sawyer wanted his cars, a/k/a tars in our house, moved from the table onto the floor. i said, "no, you can do it." he then informed me that he was busy! are you kidding me?!?! i never know what is going to come out of his mouth now. He still has his paci and today he was wanting it so he told me that he was sad. he thinks if he is hurt or sad that he can get his paci and let me just say, it works!! i'm a sucker when it comes to my boys! in reference to my post yesterday, i was told that someone at the program asked if sawyer was having a seizure....lol!! nope, that's just sawyer being sawyer...lol!! someone also said that he looked like he was blind! thankfully, we have it all on video. These are a couple of his "looks"!!

Second time around

Well, this is my 2nd time around at this blogging thing. I started a blog several months ago but failed to keep up with it. I'm gonna try again, although now i've added another child to the mix, so we'll see how it goes. I'll start by saying that i'm the proud mother of two beautiful boys! Sawyer will be 3 in June and Sutton was born March 26. I have to say, the bringing a second child home is definetly easier than the first, however, it is a lot more tiring! Sawyer had his end-of-the-year program today at school. He was hilarious, as usual! He knew we wanted him to look at us, and of course, he kept his head away from us a lot of the time and the times that we could see his face he kept his eyes rolled! If you know Sawyer, you know he can give some "looks". I'm so sad to see a close to this school year. It has been a wonderful year for sawyer. He has grown from a baby to a little boy. The teachers at his school have been wonderful. They had a slide show before the program started w/ pics throughout the year. the slide show was put to songs like "you're gonna miss this", "in my daugther's eyes", "butterfly kisses", etc......all the songs that make you want to cry when you think about your baby growing up!! of course, i want them to grow up and do all the things they are suppose to do but i know one day they won't "need" me. i guess that is all mother's fears, along w/ many others!!
